QUARTZ COUNTERTOPS ARE ENGINEERED FOR QUALITY
Unlike natural stone slabs that are mined, quartz slabs are engineered in a production facility. Ground quartz is mixed with pigments to give it color and then fused with resin binders under intense heat and pressure to form a solid slab. Recycled glass or metallic flecks may also be added to the mixture to create an eye-catching design.
The manufacturing process has become more advanced over the years and is now able to create veining, swirls, and color variations that render it indistinguishable in appearance from natural stone. Once the material has cured, it may be polished, honed, sandblasted, or embossed to create a glossy or matte finish or a variety of textures.
